Troubled by Tesco?

Thanks for various comments and emails about the proposed licensing hours for the proposed new Fortune Green Tesco. Please keep them coming and make sure to register any objections to the licensing hours with Camden. There are 2 applications - one is simply designating the premises supervisor and the second (details below) is the important one and relates to hours for sale of alcohol -its actually 6.00am-11pm . You have until 4th February to "make representations" which need to be based on one of the recognised reasons for objection - see Camden's website for these and also for the way to put in your comments/objections. Here is the link:

  1. It's a great shame that Tesco's have managed to secure a lease. I don't see how Tesco's bring anything positive to the local area, moreover we can expect increasing traffic, noise, rubbish and general disruption.

I also oppose Tesco's on the basis that they will make business very hard for all the local shops who have worked hard over the years to provide us services and who have made a genunine contribution to our community.

We don't want Tesco in Fortune Green, if people want to go to a supermarket there are many nearby and if they want to buy grocers and off-liscense there are plenty of good independent shops.
